On Tuesday, May 3 at 18.00 at University Central Library (building U6 Agor脿, Piazza dell鈥橝teneo Nuovo 1, Milano) there will be a book presentation on 鈥溾 by Alessandro Abbotto (Carocci editore,2022).
It is a journey into the fascinating world of electric transportation, starting with its secular history to the new energetic necessities, the functioning to the costs management, autonomy, charging, and new virtuous habits. With a future outlook, starting with scientific data, there will be a discussion about false myths and firm beliefs, to give everyone an opportunity to approach with passion and satisfaction the new concept of mobility.
Dario De Santis, a science historian, will talk about it with the author, Alessandro Abbotto, full professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Milano-Bicocca, and Matteo Colleoni, full professor of Urban Studies at the University of Milan-Bicocca, where he also is a Rectoral Delegate on sustainability and Mobility Manager.
Brief profile of the protagonists of the event
Alessandro Abbotto聽is a full professor of Organic Chemistry and Renewable Energy Materials at the University of Milan-Bicocca. He graduated in Chemistry and has spent some years at Berkeley and Erlangen-N眉rnberg University His research and didactic field are in materials for new green technologies and hydrogen and other solar fuels. He鈥檚 been the chief of the Material Sciences Department of the University of Milan-Bicocca till 2021, coordinating as the director, of the five-year-long project for the University and research Ministery for 鈥淓xcellent Departments鈥 on hydrogen, batteries e photovoltaic. He has been co-founder and first coordinator for the group for Chemistry of Renewable Energies of the Italian Chemistry Society. At the moment, he鈥檚 a member of the Directive Council of the Organic Chemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society. He is also President of the National Commission for the habilitation to teach Organic Chemistry in the Universities. In 2021 he published the book 鈥淗ydrogen. All the colors of energy鈥 for Edizioni Dedalo and in 2022 for Carocci editore, he published the book 鈥淓lectric mobility. History, technology, future鈥.
Matteo Colleoni聽is a full professor of Urban Studies at the University of Milan, where he is also a REctoral delegate on sustainability and Mobility Manager. He is the Coordinator of the Work Group on Mobility for RUS (la Rete delle Universit脿 per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile -University Network for Sustainable Development) and a member of the Technical Structure of the Infrastructure Ministery and Sustainable Mobilities. His research field is on the 鈥渟tructure and transformation of urban area鈥, 鈥渕obility and transport鈥, and 鈥渟ustainability and sustainable and鈥渦rban policies鈥. Among his latest monographs Understanding Mobilities for Designing Contemporary Cities. Springer, 2016 e Mobility and urban transformations. The morphology of the contemporary metropolis. Franco Angeli, Milano, 2019.
Dario De Santis聽is a Science Historian at the research center Aspi - Archivio Storico della psicologia Italiana (Historic Archive of Italian Psychology) of the University of Milano-Bicocca, he has worked on mind sciences, particularly on psychology and psychiatry history. He also is the author of the book 鈥淗uman being makers. History of the first artificial fertilizations on human gender鈥漃endragon, 2012. He teaches"Publishing and new media" at the Humanistic Studies and Cultural Heritage of the University of Udine. In 2020 he created a divulgation project called 鈥淪tories of scientific irony鈥 to talk about science history on Youtube e Instagram.
